Opening Remarks

Good evening, for those that don’t know my name is BJ Griffiths and I am your new chair for the Chamber and welcome to the 136th annual Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence awards. 136 years, wow, as I looked back into the history of these awards I found many great organizations, some amazing people and business that today shape the very foundation of this Municipality we call home. Companies such as Erie Architectural, Woodbridge Foam, Arvin Meritor, the Purple Pansy Flower boutique, Resistance Welding Products, Citizens of the year such as Mike Genge 2001, Greg Hetherington 2002, Dr John Button 2011, young entrepreneurs such as Sara Regnier 2001, Lisa Archer 2002, Chantelle Bilodeau 2008, and when I look ahead and see this year’s award winners, I see a very bright future for Chatham-Kent, a future that started with a dream and now as a community we are benefiting from those dreams coming true. Every good idea starts with a dream, I ask you to believe in your dreams and dream big, and after you’ve done that, dream bigger.
